Peet Nienaber, 1950, is Chief Executive of the Ferroalloys Business. Mr. Nienaber holds both a Bachelor and Honours degree in Engineering. Mr. Nienaber started his career as an Iscor bursary holder at Iscor Steelworks in Newcastle and worked for 14 years in the ferroalloy industry at both Samancor and CMI until in 1988 he became one of the founder members of what is now the Xstrata Group's chrome operations. In 1997, Mr. Nienaber was appointed Chief Executive of Xstrata's South African ferroalloy’s operations.
