 Brief history of the operation

The initial development of the Mototolo shaft portals commenced in November 2005. Sinking of the four barrels at each of the Lebowa and Borwa shafts continued at pace, which allowed for the first stoping tons from Lebowa and Borwa Shafts in April 2006 and August 2006 respectively. The mine reached steady state production of 200 000 tons per month in 2009.
